The Greater Fort Lauderdale area played host to the International Society of Incentive Travel Executives (ISITE) Classic

The National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) will hold its 27th Annual Meeting in Greater Fort Lauderdale at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward County Convention Center, October 11-15. NAHC President Val J. Halmandaris announced that President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at this year's conference. NAHC's goal is to bring thousands of home care and hospice professionals together under one roof to learn new ideas and how to implement them in the ever changing and important health field.

As our local hotels become certified by the Florida Green Lodging program, the GFLCVB is turning those milestones into reforestation for Broward County Parks to reestablish native plantings and green buffers to help offset the carbon footprint that results from the many aspects of visitors in our area. The GFLCVB is requesting hotels a make a minimum $500 financial donation to Broward County Parks to help this Green Broward initiative at Markham Park and take a seed of an idea and grow it into a flourishing success for all who live, work, play and visit here.

Due to strong community demand, Allegiant Air, LLC, brings back its low-cost, nonstop service from Chattanooga and Tri-State on Nov 20 and Tri-Cities on Nov 21. The airline is celebrating the sunny news with introductory fares as low as $59-$79 one-way to Fort
Lauderdale. JetBlue Airways announced new service from San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning Dec 18. JetBlue now has 46 daily flights scheduled for Fort Lauderdale this winter. AirTran Airways will add nonstop service from Pittsburgh beginning Nov 20.
