GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – January 29, 2008 - The National Football League is bringing Super Bowl, the most prolific sporting event in the country, back to South Florida, February 7, 2010, for a triumphant tenth time in its 44 year history.

"South Florida will offer quite a few distractions for NFL fans in town for the big game. Visitors to Greater Fort Lauderdale will enjoy 23 miles of Blue Wave beaches, acclaimed dining, world-class shopping, golf and a variety of soft adventure activities, ranging from SCUBA to kite surfing,"  said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

With South Florida hosting the 2010 Super Bowl, it will mark the tenth time the championship game will be played in our sunny shores (1968, '69, '71, '76, '79, '89, '95, '99 and '07), more than any other destination. In 2010, two Super Bowls will have been played at the recently renovated Dolphin Stadium, while three Super Bowls have been played at Pro Player Stadium, the previous five were held at the Orange Bowl. Super Bowl XLIV will also mark the third time that consecutive Super Bowls would be played in the same state.
