PUT OUR SERVICE TO THE TEST - GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE ANNOUNCES NEW SUPERIOR SMALL LODGINGS AND WHITE GLOVE AWARD WINNERS 

Greater Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – November 4, 2008 – For the traveler more than the cookie-cutter hotel room and premium service with an authentic local feel, Greater Fort Lauderdale's Superior Small Lodgings (SSL) recently welcomed 15 new properties to its distinguished collection.  From Deerfield to Hallandale Beach, each of the 74 member hotels, inns and bed & breakfasts are nationally recognized for their quality and personalized service by the SSL designation.

The Superior Small Lodgings program was created by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau in 1989 as a way for travelers to recognize that each of these properties, featuring 50 rooms or less, could offer personalized service, comfortable accommodations, an inviting atmosphere and, perhaps most important in our current economy, a price friendly to vacationers on any budget.  To earn their Superior Small Lodgings designation each property has to undergo an annual comprehensive, independent review process of six different attributes: registration/operations/public spaces; guest accommodations; bathrooms; bathroom supplies; kitchen; and property exterior.

Greater Fort Lauderdale also recently named the recipients of the Donal A. Dermody White Glove Award for best housekeeping practices.  To receive this award, Superior Small Lodgings must score one hundred percent during housekeeping inspection from the independent Property Review Program.  The 2008 winners include:

Overall, Greater Fort Lauderdale's Superior Small Lodgings averaged a score of 96.29 percent during housekeeping inspections.
