GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE'S INAUGURATION PROCLAMATION: "LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF SUNSHINE"

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – January 6, 2009 At the same time that millions of Americans gather in the freezing cold streets of Washington D.C. for the inauguration of Barack Obama, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau is inviting them to experience another "change."  A change of weather, a change of scenery, a change as the soon-to-be President likes to say, "We can all believe in."

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Beach on Wheels will be hitting the frozen streets of Washington D.C. on Inauguration Day (January 20th) to spread the message that the people of the United States have the right to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Sunshine."

"Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Sunshine," will be added to Greater Fort Lauderdale's Beach on Wheels, a glass enclosed flatbed truck that has toured cities across the U.S. and Canada.  "The Beach on Wheels brings to life the destination's beautiful Blue Wave beaches and lets potential travelers know that there are warm, beautiful, easily accessible hotspots to welcome the new year," says Nicki E. Grossman, president, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Beach on Wheels will be seen during the day along Pennsylvania Avenue, in Georgetown, around Dupont Circle and Logan Circle and along Wisconsin Avenue.  And for those planning to enjoy the Monument tour by moonlight, the Beach on Wheels will heat up the night along The Mall. For more information about Greater Fort Lauderdale please visit www.sunny.org.
