GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU
WINS GOLD AT THE ADDY AWARDS

GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - March 4, 2009 - The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau took home two Gold ADDY® Awards.  One ADDY for the Greater Fort Lauderdale integrated sunny.org marketing campaign "Go from coldfront to beachfront" (Times Square billboard, Beachmobile glass-enclosed beach scene, magazine, newspaper and online banners) produced by Starmark International. And the second ADDY for the ImmersaDome virtual reality experience featuring the sights, sounds and smell of the destination, with a three-minute high-definition video produced by LP Media.

In addition, the GFLCVB received a silver ADDY® Award for its post-presidential election print ad in the main news section of The New York Times.  With an elephant and a donkey sitting on the sun-kissed beach under a beach umbrella and the headline "There's one thing all Americans can agree on.  It's time for a getaway."  The timely and eye-catching ad was created by Starmark International for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

"We are proud that our Times Square billboard, print and online banner campaign along with our Beach on Wheels and ImmersaDome video --- all showcasing our warm sunny shores--- were recognized with such a prestigious award," said Nicki E. Grossman, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau president. "The positive response we receive from these campaigns, which continue to project our sunny state of mind, is priceless, especially during these challenging days."

Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY® Awards recognize top Broward County advertising agencies for creative excellence in advertising and design work. The Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB's entries will go onto compete in the AAF's prestigious national ADDY® Award competition, the nation's largest and most prestigious advertising competition.
