Normalcy is Back
It's been an interesting 7 days since Wilma breezed through. We have been living like the early settlers and rising with the sun and sleeping at dark. The weather has been wonderfully cool and nice. All our landscaping is back in place and looks beat up but will survive. Gas lines have shortened considerably and we even went out for Chinese food the other night. Kids are still home from school and college.
Huge trees and other debris including awnings, roof tiles and other materials still dot the landscape. While the beauty of this paradise is not readily apparent right now, with each tractor trailer of fallen trees hauled away things start to look better. I stood on line for 40 minutes today at Dunkin Donuts! Well worth it. Got my fill of caffeine and bagels with cream cheese. Yum! And there was no line for gas today. Things are getting better day by day.
Hold it. This just in, we received our power back just moments ago, although our cable is still not working yet.
We are grateful that this experience is coming to an end and hope that all our friends are having their power restored soon. If not, stop by for a warm shower and a hot cup of coffee.
