Greetings from the United Kingdom!
This is Alfredo, on the road with the Fort Lauderdale Beach on Wheels, the 20-foot long glass enclosed truck filled with golden sand, palm tree, lifeguard and bathing beauty. Yesterday, January 10, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Beach on Wheels debuted overseas. We are in miserably cold (3 degrees Celsius) and rainy Manchester. At 2:00pm, the Beach on Wheels crew met the Q103 radio folks for the "spot the Beach on Wheels Robbie Williams campaign." A cardboard cutout of Robbie stood proudly over our sunning bathing suit model. We then drove to the new Manchester Convention Center, where the Beach on Wheels served as the backdrop for the local news Channel M, announcing the start of the 2008 Travel and Leisure Show.
Stay tuned for more pictures and thoughts from the road.
