Eco Productions

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward Office of Film & Entertainment promotes eco productions with key filming locations in Broward County.

Sawgrass Recreation Park has teamed up with three area hotels, the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center and Spa, the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport South, and the Hyatt Summerfield Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport South to provide filming accessibility for eco friendly productions.

Opened in 1971, Sawgrass Recreation Park provides air boat rides through Florida's most unique treasures, the Everglades.  At Sawgrass Recreation Park, a glimpse of the subtropical ecosystem can be seen on air boat rides that glide across the miles of river grass and bring guests close to native wildlife, many of which are endangered.  On land, Sawgrass Recreation Park has an array of alligators, crocodiles, and native animals that live in the everglades.  A partner with the Wildlife, Fishing and Gaming organization, many of the animals are brought to the park for rehabilitation.    Predators Unlimited is located on the grounds of the park and bring a variety of endangered species to the park.  A 501 3C, this non profit organization's mission is to educate and enlighten the public about endangered species, such as the Florida Panther.

Sawgrass Recreation Park has hosted a number of film and tape productions including:                

Jeff Corwin's special report on ABC Network, Animal Planet's, "Swamp Wars,"  Logo Network's,  "Bump,"  Telemundo Network, WTVJ-TV/NBC's campaign, "I am Miami," among many others.

The hotels and Sawgrass Recreation Park have collaborated on the following rates and amenities available to any film and tape group staying at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center and Spa, Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport South, or Hyatt Summerfield Airport South. There is no fee to film or tape at Sawgrass Recreation Park, but reservations need to be made through the website at http://www.evergladestours.com/.

Sawgrass Recreation Park is located 20 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and 30 minutes from the Miami International Airport.  Hours of operation are 9am to 5pm.
