Do you have a unique home or location that would be useful for the film industry? Are you a company owner willing to put your building in the movies, commercials or print?

There are a few things to remember when you are considering filing your location with us:

  • You must own or manage the property and be able to give permission for filming.
  • Fees are negotiated directly with the production company and vary depending on the budget and type of production.
  • Fees are either set at a flat rate or on a daily rate.
  • Film companies carry insurance you should request to be listed as additionally insured under the policy.

Getting Started

Your first step is to start documenting your location with photos. Here are some easy tips to consider:

  • Be sure to take both exterior (outside) & interior (inside) shots of you house, building or structure.
  • Take the widest-angle shots possible of the location. For exteriors go across the street and take a photo of the front of you house. Stand in the furthest corner of your backyard and take a photo of the rear of your house. When shooting interiors such as rooms, stand in the corner of the room and take the photo, then go to the opposite corner of the room and take the reverse angle photo of the same room. For hallways, shoot from end towards the opposite end.
  • Remember to photograph interesting or unique aspects of the property.
  • Outside to include: Swimming pools, large gardens, decks, hot tubs, patios, built-in BBQs, tree houses, sheds, garages, tennis courts, barns sports courts and children play areas.
  • Inside to include: All unique rooms and notable features and angles as well as large bathrooms and kitchens. Remember to only add pictures of rooms you wouldnt mind having someone film in.
  • Business to include: office areas, boardrooms, lunch/break rooms, lobby entrances, front desks, warehouses, and manufacturing or assemble line areas as well as cubicles
  • These photos are just to give the producers an idea of what locations look like. Do not clean the location just for these pictures. These photos are intended to be seen by film and video professionals who may want the location as it is in its current condition.
  • Once a production company is interested in your location, they will take their own pictures of the location.
  • Be sure to include the address of the location. Also give us your home and work phone numbers, including your message service, your pager or cellular phone numbers and your e-mail address.
  • Digital photos are preferred. Email photos to nstevenson@broward.org or create a disc and mail to:
