July 31: Staycation
Hello again, good friends in the blogosphere! This is Isabella, back with my best friend, Juliette. We’re writing a blog to help her little brother, Spencer, who began doing this blog. But now it seems Spencer is bored with blogging. Isn’t that right, BFF?

Juliette: Totally right, BFF!! But we’ve got some good stories to tell after our “staycation” on the beach. So we’re going to write this blog together again this week. Even if Isabella is the most famous writer around here! Teehee.

Isabella: Hardly famous, not yet! But let’s tell our blog fans about the best part of our ten days on the Fort Lauderdale beach. Because we met these two great guys, as we told you last week. Remember that? Jack and Brad from New York. They were staying at our hotel and now they’re visiting some uncle and aunt or something. So here is our romantic story: Because one afternoon they asked Juliette and me to go out with them. You tell the story now, J …

Juliette: Oh, ok – even though you write so grown-up and everything and I don’t but oh well. Hahaha. Well, then Mom says it’s ok to go. I mean, with Brad and Jack. It wasn’t too far from the hotel. Just down Las Olas. And we got there and there was this long boat thingie and I never saw one like that before. Right, Isabella?

Isabella: Right, absolutely! It’s called a “gondola,” and they have lots of these in Italy. In Venice, I think. It’s just the most romantic boat you can imagine. All spread out in red fabric and seats for two and romantic music playing. So then tell them what happened next, Juliette.

Juliette: We got on this boat and Jack paid for the whole thing. Even though it was so totally a lot of money. Jack sits with Isabella and I sat with Brad and there’s not much room in those seats. SO totally tight! And then the boat driver guy heads this boat out on the river around Fort Lauderdale. And then … You tell, Isabella.

Isabella: It was really sunny and hot. So Jack takes off his shirt to sit in the sunshine. And he looks so good! Then Brad does the same thing. And he looks so good too. We are floating along the New River now and the guys are singing and laughing with us. And they put their arms around us after a while too. Right, J?

Juliette: I was really surprised by that. Kinda. I wasn’t too surprised. But I acted all surprised but I already knew they both really liked us and everything. Then you know what happens next? Here’s Isabella to tell you! Because this really DID surprise me – and her!

Isabella: It was a very romantic moment, girls! Or even you guy blog readers out there. Just picture floating in a lovely gondola down a tropical river, with a guy’s arms around his pretty girlfriend. Romantic music playing on the boombox. That’s what it was like. Then … Jack kissed me! I mean, like, REALLY kissed me! I wasn’t sure what to do. I felt like my head would spin in circles or something. But I just smiled. It was a really nice kiss too!! My best ever, so far …

Juliette: Brad didn’t kiss me like that because I’m maybe too much younger than him or whatever. I dunno. Oh well. It was fun watching my BFF get kissed.

Isabella: So we headed back to the dock and got out and just walked back to our hotel, holding hands. Brad and Juliette were holding hands too – and they looked pretty romantic to me. Haha, J! We went back to the hotel and went swimming there and it was the most incredible and romantic day of my life. So yes, you know Jack and I are still seeing each other, for sure. So are Brad and J. We go on lots of double date things to the beach and all over.

Juliette: And so that’s what a “staycation” did for us, girls and guys! We met two of the best guys around and now we just spend so much time together. I’m glad I get to blog about it too. With Isabella, of course! I don’t know if Spencer wants his blog back next week or what. But this is fun. Especially blogging with my famous writer friend.

Isabella: NOT famous! Not yet. Haha. But we still have lots of time before school starts and lots to do. So there will be more blogs and maybe more romantic stories to tell. Come back again next week, blog friends. Whatever happens, you just KNOW this blog will have the whole great story about it!! Have fun on your own great summer vacation too!! Bye!!
