June 26: Big Sister and a Sunny Ride
I’m back, blog lovers! It’s me again – Juliette! I’m back blogging after one whole year away almost. Except now I’m 13, so I’m like lots older and smarter than I was last year when I helped my friend, Isabella, write blogs. I can write lots better now really. But Isabella still writes better than me. Even if she won’t admit it. Right, Isabella? Haha! I hope she reads this blog.

So why am I doing this again, you ask? Well, it’s because my little brother, Spencer, started this blog. Isabella is too busy this summer to blog again. And I didn’t want my own blog because that’s SO like a pain to write every week. Too too much to think about when I’m off school. But Spencer is only 11 and he needs help so he asked me. And so like I’m being the good big sister and whatever else. Anyway it’s kinda fun to write a blog. Sometimes. When I feel like it.

Spencer wants to write something now in this week’s blog. So I’ll type his name first so you know it’s him then he can say whatever. Here he is.

Spencer: Hi, this is Spencer again. I’m letting Juliette help me. Cause she was totally crying and begging to write in my blog. Ok, ok, sorry Juliette. Just kidding! She wasn’t crying. But we took this bus ride thing today. But I don’t know what to blog about this thing. Except it was cool. NOT awesome, Juliette!

Juliette: Hi, it’s Juliette again and Spencer is so totally weird sometimes. Anyway, it’s not a bus, Spencer. It’s a thingie called a Sun Trolley. I googled “trolley” and so it just means this thing that’s almost like a bus but isn’t really. Anyway, these funny little trolley things roll all around Fort Lauderdale. Like to the mall and Las Olas. And the beach. The beach is the best! And so I asked Spencer if he wanted to go to the beach and ride the Sun Trolley. And he’s like, “Awesome!” I totally swear to you, that’s what he said.

Spencer: I didn’t even say awesome cause I didn’t even want to go with you, Juliette. Who wants to do stuff with a sister, right? ROFL! But this Sun Trolley thing looks all yellow and funny and everything. It’s fun.

Juliette: It’s yellow because it’s sunny. Get it? Like the sun. Duh! Now you see why Spencer needs my help. Teehee. Anyway, I thought we had to pay something but this Sun Trolley was like totally free and we just got on the trolley at this bus stop near our house. All the way to the beach. And I don’t care what my dorky little brother says. It WAS awesome because it was SO totally cute. Then we just walked around the beach all afternoon. How “awesome” is that! Right, Spencer?

Spencer: Yeah it was Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! My sister says awesome every minute on the whole Sun thing ride to the beach. Isabella doesn’t even say awesome anymore but Juliette can’t stop. LOL!

Juliette: Spencer is still like in love or whatever with Isabella. Just like last summer. Except more now!!!

Spencer: I am not! But she really is so totally smart and pretty and everything. But that’s all I want to say now. Cause I am NOT in love with Isabella.

Juliette: So anyway, that’s our blog this week. Maybe I’ll help my dorky little brother again next week. Maybe not. But I think we might go some place “awesome” again and maybe Isabella will go too. Then Spencer can tell you how beautiful she is. Hahaha! Bye for now, blog lovers! See ya next week!!

June 19: Inside the Bird Cage
Ok, so this was the coolest part. Remember I told you about this place last week? You probably remember that. This place is called Flamingo Gardens and Mom took me there. My sister Juliette went with us. But I still had fun anyway. So I already told you about the snake I held and the peacocks running all around and everything.

Now I want to tell you about the best part of our visit. It was like being inside this totally huge bird cage. Mom called it something, like some special name or something. But I forget. Ok, so she just told me again. It’s called a “free-flight aviary.” She helped me spell it now. Whatever. It’s just a big bird cage, that’s all.

But me and Mom and Juliette walked all inside the bird cage. And it seems like maybe there’s a million birds there maybe. Cause I go like walking on the sidewalk inside this cage. Then I turn around and you know what I saw now? A big huge pelican walking right behind me. It was totally too funny. I laughed so hard! Cause this pelican was about as tall as my shoulders. And pelicans have the biggest mouths. Weird but funny too.

Then Mom and Juliette watch this other black bird standing on a tree near Mom’s head. He just stands there with his wings out. Mom told us this bird likes the water but has to get his wings dry that way. Too bizarre, right? Ok, ok, thanks, Mom! She just told me what that bird is called. It’s an “anhinga.” Mom keeps reading my blog as I write this. I wish she would stop! :(

But there were so many totally awesome birds in this big cage. Ducks swimming around and these really really pretty birds with pink mouths. I don’t know what they’re called. And if Mom tells me I’m still not going to write that bird’s name in this blog! Anyway I liked all the birds. So did Mom. So did Juliette too, even if she has to keep saying “awesome” every minute.

So then we walk outside this big bird cage and then we saw a couple huge alligators just laying in this big old pond. I really liked that too. And there were lots and lots of really tall pink birds. Those are flamingos. I already know what those are called. Cause this place is Flamingo Gardens and everything.

So I totally think you should check out this place yourself, ok? I won’t say it’s awesome cause Juliette makes me crazy saying that sometimes. But it really is awesome anyway. And next week, I’ll do something else cool. I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet.

But you know what? I think Juliette wants to help me write this blog sometimes. Maybe sometimes I’ll let her. I don’t know.

I wish Isabella would help me write this blog too. She’s Juliette’s best friend and I really like Isabella and everything. Cause she’s really pretty and really nice and really smart. I wish Isabella was my sister too. But I still like Juliette too. I’ll let you know what happens next week, ok? BFN! ;)

June 12: Totally Huge Jungle
Hi, this is Spencer again. You remember me. I started this blog last week. So now I’m going to tell you my first story for this blog, ok? Mom took me and Juliette to this place. A real wild place. It was somewhere called Flamingo Gardens. Juliette is my sister but she’s ok sometimes. We all had fun at this place. For sure.

You would like it too. I’m going to tell you why. It was a jungle there. That’s why you would like it. When you walk inside Flamingo Gardens, you see super totally huge trees. Everywhere. So big and so really old. The trees have big vines hanging down. Like that Indiana Jones movie. I like that movie a lot. Cool. Did you see that?

At Flamingo Gardens we see this big peacock walking around us. That’s what this bird is called. It has like this monster big tail and everything. Really pretty for a bird. Flamingo Gardens has peacocks walking around and running around all over the place.

This place has so many different birds and animals from Florida. Mom said all of them were hurt. They got hurt just going around in the woods. So Flamingo Gardens helps makes these birds and animals better. But you get to see them anyway and you see them real close up and it is totally cool. So I’m going to tell you what we did there.

Cause then we all go sit down to watch this show. This man walks out and he has a HUGE bird with really big claws. This bird is on this man’s arm but he is wearing a big glove. I think this bird is so strong he could scratch you real bad. But it’s safe cause the man holds on to the bird.

Then we see a big snake from Florida. I liked that. But Juliette didn’t. She was like, “Ewww, I hate snakes!” I think your sister might say something like that too. If she saw a big snake!

So now this big snake crawls all over the man and I go like, “Can I hold him?” That’s what I said but Mom told me to be quiet. But the man let me hold the snake anyway. Wow, that was way cool! This big black snake goes all twisting around my arm and in my hands. Juliette couldn’t take it. She totally moves away from me and is like, “Gross!” ROFL!

Then these two big peacocks go running super fast. They just run past us with their heads sticking way out and screeching real loud. And it was like they were birds in a cartoon. You know how funny birds look in cartoons? That’s what these peacocks looked like. Mom laughed and me too. Juliette laughed too.

But this still wasn’t the best stuff we did. The best stuff was inside this totally big place at Flamingo Gardens. There are so many different birds flying all around your head in this place and they walk past you and swim right by you. So next week I’m going to tell you about that. It was awesome! TTYL! :)

June 6: Wild Places Everywhere
My name is Spencer and I’m 11 but almost 12. And this is my first blog. Ok, but not like really, really my first blog. Cause I wrote two blogs for Isabella when she was lost! That was last summer, ok? Remember that?

Maybe not. But ok, so I don’t care if you remember Isabella’s blog. Ya know? Why should I care? Sometimes my sister, Juliette, helped write Isabella’s blog. But now this is my blog! My own blog and I’m like the only person allowed to write it!! NOT Isabella! And NOT Juliette!!!

Last summer I still didn’t write very good sometimes. Cause I was only 10 then. But now I’m a good writer cause I’m older and everything like that. And I like to write about things. Even if I have to use spellcheck and everything. I can spell without spellcheck. But sometimes I forget words and letters and things like that.

So welcome to my blog :) Writing a blog is easier than texting. Ya know? Cuz txt msgs r so shrt! I lk txt msgs 2! But this blog is not on a cell phone. I’m writing on a computer for real! My own blog! But sometimes I may write like it’s texting too, just for fun. Jst 4 fn. LOL!

So today here’s what I want to tell you about. You are so missing the coolest stuff if you don't live in Florida. There’s wild places everywhere around here. I have lived here since I was born. But not Juliette. She was born some place else. I forget where it was. Anyway, so next week I’ll tell you stories about Florida.

SOUTH Florida stories! There’s like a million alligators that eat anything around them. They are so totally huge. Scary but cool. I think alligators are way way cool. But alligators don’t live near lots of people or anything, ok? They live in a wild swamp.

Mom says we will take lots of trips and things but not very far away. Trips to places around our own house this summer. So I’ll see new things this summer, even if I was born here. I guess it will be pretty cool to see things and learn things about South Florida. Right? I think so!

So I will be back next week to tell you about the first place we go. I think Mom called it a flamingo jungle or gardens or forest. Or something like that. I’ll tell you next week. All I know is this place sounds wild to me.
