Beyond the ballroom.

Greater Fort Lauderdale offers exceptional event venues, teambuilding and recreational activities. You can create your own unforgettable event or let us help you. There are so many "only in Lauderdale" choices for themed or on-the-water events throughout the destination, your only challenge is choosing.

On the Water

The natural tendency would be head to the water in this area known as "the Venice of America."  Maybe a moonlit poolside reception overlooking the ocean from one of the area's many hotels or resorts.  A dinner cruise through the mansions of Millionaire's Row on a luxury yacht.  Or put your crew on a catamaran and sail to a private island. Show me water venue options.

On the Town

Groups can travel in style via Water Taxi instead of a motorcoach to the bright lights and vibrant energy of Las Olas Boulevard. Its walkable downtown Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District contains venues where one-of-a-kind events can be created. Take a look at the historic Stranahan House, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale and the Museum of Discovery and Science and 3D Imax Theatre. Attendees can sail right up to the dock of the historic River House, a National Historic Landmark along the New River. Other event sites in this area include restaurants and entertainment venues. For attendees who want to stay and play after the event, the lively Himmarshee Village offers nightlife options for your group.  See more unique venues.

At the Beach

Beachplace, between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, boasts casual venues.  For your beach-chic event, look to the area's new waterfront "Lauderdale Luxe" hotel collection.

Plan a medal-winning event at the International Swimming Hall of Fame, complete with synchronized swimming to a live orchestra. The Bonnet House Museum,  former residence of artist Frederic Clay Bartlett, features indoor and outdoor venues with an elegant "Old Florida" ambiance. After the event, groups can take a tour through Bonnet House's tropical gardens to the Atlantic for an authentic beach party.

At the International Fishing Hall of Fame, located in Dania Beach, groups can enjoy virtual fishing and creative displays of world-record-winning fish suspended overhead, providing built-in décor.  Show me all sports venues.

Hollywood Events

In Hollywood area, a wide range of event venues can be found in one location: the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and the adjoining Seminole Paradise dining, shopping and entertainment complex. Featuring 11 clubs and lounges, this hot spot includes a 120,000 square-foot Hard Rock Live for concerts and group events and the Okalee Indian Village, where groups can experience the culture and history of the Florida's "unconquered" people in an authentic Seminole Village.

Yet another exciting gaming venue is Hallandale's Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino which features thoroughbred racing, slots and poker. Private event settings include the opulent Sport of Kings Room; Frank's Beach, where groups can watch the race to the finish line; and the Walking Ring, where the thoroughbreds parade through.

The Hollywood Broadwalk offers a further selection of restaurants and clubs that can be used for private events along the beachside pedestrian promenade.

Teambuilding, Relaxation and Recreation

Greater Fort Lauderdale is the ideal setting for group bonding, recreation and relaxation. Create a team with a scavenger hunt on a Water Taxi along Las Olas Boulevard or a Great Everglades Critter Count, spotting wildlife from an airboat. Or plan a deep-sea fishing tournament, where attendees make the big catch in this area renowned for sport-fishing

Golfing

Golf tournaments are a popular teambuilding option for groups.  Greater Fort Lauderdale boasts more than 40 courses, including championship resort courses, exclusive private clubs and beautifully maintained municipal facilities designed by legends of the game. Among this collection of manicured greens, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa claims the only five-star rated golf course in South Florida at the Diplomat Country Club & Spa. If a tournament is not on your group's agenda, Greater Fort Lauderdale courses can host night-golf, scrambles, golf instruction and creative activities to delight golfers and non-golfers alike.  More on Lauderdale Golf.

At the Spa

When it comes time to help your attendees relax and feel rejuvenated, you're sure to find the key to tranquility at one of Greater Fort Lauderdale's group-friendly resort or day spas. Top-drawer pampering is guaranteed at the 48,000-square-foot Red Door Lifestyle Spa in the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Convention Center & Spa, know the only destination lifestyle spa in the Red Door portfolio.
