Ways to Play

Year-round sunny skies and palm-fringed beaches set the scene for adventures and uniquely Lauderdale experiences that your attendees can enjoy with their families. An impressive collection of dining, entertainment, shopping, attractions, events, arts and cultural venues dazzles with Greater Fort Lauderdale's signature blend of beach-chic style and low-key, friendly ambiance.

Water Wonderland

Greater Fort Lauderdale's 300 miles of waterways have earned it the name "Venice of America" and distinctive Water Taxis serve as Fort Lauderdale's version of the gondola. Yachts, water taxis, riverboats or catamarans make getting there a big part of the fun for your group. Show me water transportation options.

If attendees prefer to stay and cruise, Port Everglades, home base to 35 ships, is located only five minutes from the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. Take me to the Cruiseport.

Atlantic and Intracoastal waters are renowned for water sports such as boating, fishing, diving and snorkeling. Greater Fort Lauderdale also boasts both the International Swimming Hall of Fame and the International Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum that serve as both great venues and delightful attractions.  Show me all the sports venues.

Dining & Entertainment

More than 4,000 restaurants and a long list of entertainment venues - ranging from performing arts to high-stakes poker - provide multiple ways to play. Fort Lauderdale's waterfront and fashionable Las Olas Boulevard offers an amazing, walkable selection of dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

A cultural gem with a tropical feel, attendees can learn about Fort Lauderdale history at the Stranahan House, catch a hit show at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, or marvel at the Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale rare collections. The Museum of Discovery and Science and 3D Imax Theatre appeal to the scientific mind and all are found within the downtown Riverwalk Arts and Entertainment District. Also in this area, Himmarshee Village is known for its nightlife.

The Hollywood Broadwalk is a beachside pedestrian promenade that provides an oceanfront setting for yet another collection of dining and entertainment venues. If gaming is on the itinerary, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood offers a Vegas-style casino experience, concerts at Hard Rock Live and the Seminole Paradise dining, shopping and entertainment complex. Gulfstream Park Racing & Casino features thoroughbred racing, poker, slots and simulcasting. Championship greyhound racing is found at Mardi Gras Gaming & Casino, harness racing at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park and Dania Jai Alai showcases the world's fastest game.

The Art of Shopping

Shoppers can hunt for treasures in trendy Las Olas boutiques or spend days browsing among 350 name-brand outlets at Sawgrass Mills Mall. For high-style designer fashions at great values, The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass feature an exclusive collection of upscale stores, including Neiman Marcus Last Call, Kate Spade, St. John's, Ferragamo and Barney's New York.

As Florida's largest retail and entertainment center, Sawgrass Mills offers dining from casual to elegant and makes it easy to entertain the kids at Wannado City, America's first indoor role-playing theme park for kids.

Definitely not your typical flea market,  the Festival Flea Market in Pompano Beach spans a quarter of a mile and contains 500 brand name stores, booths and kiosks.

Nature-Based Adventures

This beach-chic destination has a wild side. Attendees and their families can explore the mysterious Florida Everglades by airboat, or cruise through the mangroves of this eco-system's 10,000 islands. The Everglades is home to the Seminole Indian tribe, and attendees can see alligators, snakes and other swamp inhabitants at the Big Cypress Seminole Reservation and learn about Seminole history at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum.

Or let your meeting take flight.  Thousands of butterflies flutter among acres of tropical gardens at Butterfly World, where hummingbirds, waterfalls and even a bug zoo bring together beautiful, natural, and educational experiences in one attraction.
