CORAL SPRINGS MUSEUM OF ART

  • Since its opening in early 1997, with the focus on displaying innovative and ethnically diverse Florida artists and providing eclectic and challenging classes for both children and adults. In addition, hosted three “blockbuster” exhibitions with well-known artists such as Alexandra Nichita, Wolf Kahn, Duane Hansen, Clyde Butcher, Jose Bedia, Yuroz, and Dale Chihuly. Also displayed art on loan from other area museums, such as the Boca Raton Museum of Art, the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens.

FORT LAUDERDALE ANTIQUE CAR MUSEUM

FORT LAUDERDALE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

  • Located on the New River, the Fort Lauderdale History Center tells the story of the community’s history from the Pioneers of Fort Lauderdale to the present day through its four historic structures: 1905 New River Inn, which houses the Museum of History and was the first building in Broward County to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the 1905 Philemon Bryan House, a four-square Vernacular style house.

GIRLS' CLUB

  • Founded in 2006 by artist Francie Bishop Good and her husband David Horvitz, Girls' Club is the only private collection in the world dedicated to exhibiting contemporary art by women. Cutting edge works in painting, drawing, photography and video are presented in curated, thematic exhibitions and are generally on view for a full year. Girls' Club also presents lectures, artist series, and workshops throughout the year. Girls' Club is free and open to the public Wed-Fri, 1-5pm and other times by appointment.

IGFA FISHING HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM

  • Visit the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum and you are immersed in an underwater world filled with world record fish. The museum provides sport fishing and record information, interactive displays and virtual reality fishing. OLD DAVIE SCHOOL HISTORICAL MUSEUM

  • The first permanent school in the Everglades opened its doors to 90 students in 1918. The Davie School, as it was known then, was in continuous use as a school until 1980. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. The campus includes the oldest existing school building in Broward County, 2 original homes built in 1912, a replica of a 1909 early settler’s shack, and an authentic Chickee Hut built by Seminole Tate Oceola. From the day it opened, Davie School serves as the area’s source of education as well as a center for community gatherings. Today it serves as a museum of local history and culture, and continues in its role as the “Crown Jewel of Davie.”

STONEWALL LIBRARY & GLBT ARCHIVES

  • Cultural and educational resource that preserves, interprets and shares the heritage of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. Serving as an epicenter of enlightenment to build bridges of cultural understanding in the LGBT community and beyond. From its founding in 1973, the Stonewall Library & Archives has grown into the largest lending library of its kind in the US, with more than 18,000 books and audio-visual materials. Archives contains more than 5,000 items including periodicals, oral history collections, business and association records, and more.

STRANAHAN HOUSE

  • The historic Stranahan House was built in 1901 by Frank Stranahan, the father of Fort Laurderdale and his wife, Ivy Cromartie Stranahan, the town's first school teacher. The building has served as a trading post, community center, post office, bank and home to the Stranahans. In 1984, the house was restored to the original configuration of the early 1900s and opened up as an historic house museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
