ONGOING EVENTS 2012:
Cannonball Jazz series at the Old Dillard Museum.
Monthly cabaret-style jazz concerts featuring regional and nationally-known musicians and honoring the late legendary jazz saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, a former teacher at the historic Fort Lauderdale site during the late 1950s.
The African American Research Library exhibit, "Fabulous Forties on the Avenue" is a replica of an iconic stretch of road - Northwest Fifth Avenue that was once the commerce hub of the black community. The exhibit will also include the latest in mobile applications technology, allowing both young and old to access the historical materials through a series of interactive kiosks. These kiosks will allow visitors to create and download a fun video of their gallery experience to share with others.
