Dania Beach

A Little Retro. A Little Modern. Discover the Charms.

Off-the-beaten-path is what Dania Beach does best. Unhurried and laid-back, this charming city invites you to breathe in all the cool and diverse experiences Dania Beach has to offer in its eight square miles of beach, canals, accommodations, dining, and shopping in Greater Fort Lauderdale.

Comfy and Convenient Accommodations

Barely a mile from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, you could literally land and be on the beach in minutes. But you probably want to check into your hotel first, of which there are plenty. Names like Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton assure you of comfort and quality — as well as complimentary shuttle service. Hotel Dello Fort Lauderdale Airport  features a boutique-style experience. In December 2019, Le Méridien Dania Beach at Fort Lauderdale Airport opened its doors with a French-meets-maritime aesthetic.

Dania Pointe will soon make Dania Beach Broward County’s preeminent lifestyle destination. The mixed-use development has almost 1 million square feet of retail, restaurants, Class A offices, hotels, luxury apartments and public event space.

Relax and Play Outdoors

Whichever hotel you choose, you’ll always be just a few minutes from a great discovery. Relax on the beach and get back to nature at Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. It’s a historic Dania Beach gem that offers trail hiking, bird watching, and swimming in a calm, blue ocean. Pop into BG Whiskey Creek Hideout, and they’ll outfit you for kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding.

You can also reach the beach at the Dania Beach Pier, but fishing is the real attraction here, where you can get supplies at the bait and tackle shop. You’ll see anglers of all ages dropping a line into the ocean, as well as sightseers enjoying the horizon. Catch a sneak peek of the golden sand and fishing scene on the live Dania Beach Pier and Beach Webcam.

A Design Lover’s Dream in Dania Beach

Although one of Greater Fort Lauderdale’s eight unique beach towns, Dania Beach has discoveries beyond the beach. You might expect “Broward County’s First City” to keep it old school, and it does.

A variety of antique shops dot the area around Federal Highway, promising souvenirs like no other. You might find antique toys, Art Deco décor, or an unexpected treasure. Old Florida Bookshop has towering stacks of antique editions and plenty of atmosphere, with Tiffany lamps and Persian rugs.

Since eclectic things are your thing, you must visit the nearby Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts, a world-class, Louvre-level collection of ceramic art and studio glass right here in Dania Beach. Browse priceless pieces from various ages and makers, including Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Wedgwood, and Lladró. And — hello! — the gift shop is unforgettable.
