Hallandale Beach

It’s hard to believe that Hallandale Beach began as a small 1800’s-era farming community. If those farmers could just see us now! You get to experience the engaging, ever-changing seaside, gaming, and entertainment our city offers you today.

Clear, pristine, peaceful

That’s how many visitors describe our beach. You’ll find it a little more laid-back, compared to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Miami beaches.

Start your day like the locals do - with a fresh omelet or fruit smoothie at Café Cita, a cozy little place just footsteps from the sand. It’s nothing fancy on the outside, but the meals served here turn first-time visitors into regular customers.

Time to stake out your spot for the perfect beach day. Energetic souls will love the boardwalk here: beautiful views for walkers, joggers, and bicyclists. You’ll also find equipment rentals nearby, plus shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.

Switch From Blue to Green

Within walking distance of Hallandale Beach is Joseph Scavo Park, newly remodeled and looking quite spiffy. Let the kids run free on the playground and the dogs run free on theirs. (There’s even a separate dog park for little fellas and one for big kahunas.) Join a pickup game of basketball; stroll the walking path, or enjoy a picnic on the soft grass beneath sunny skies.

For a different kind of green, see if Lady Luck is waiting on you at Gulfstream Park. This entertainment playground features live thoroughbred racing, two-story casino, 20+ restaurants, bars & night spots, plus terrific shopping in Villages at Gulfstream Park.

Gulfstream’s not the only game in town: The Big Easy Casino (formerly known as Mardi Gras Casino) has 700 slots, 30 poker tables, and the largest number of video poker games in Florida, as well as a full schedule of live entertainment.

For sports lovers, there’s tennis, golf, swimming, boating, and salt-water fishing opportunities in Hallandale Beach as well.

Comfort Food and Screaming Carrots? Yes Please.

Indulge in South Florida’s official comfort food: Cuban cuisine. Padrino's Cuban Cuisine and A Touch of Cuba serve it up for many locals here. You gotta love the name Screaming Carrots – your tastebuds and body will love what’s on the plate even more: plant-based organic goodness. Sip fine wine and nibble gourmet treats at Il Mercato Cafe & Wine Shop or dig into savory slices at Tamarindo Coal Fired Pizza.
