Margate

The Gateway to Greater Fort Lauderdale

With nine square miles of tree-lined streets, 30 miles of canals and more than 57,000 residents, Margate is known for its exceptional hometown quality of life. The city’s name was derived from the founder’s last name, Jack Marqusee, and the first four letters of gateway, since it was considered a “gateway” to western Broward County. Today, Margate is also a gateway to a big-city attitude with a small-town feel.
