There may not be a utopia, but for one lifelong Florida resident, Fort Lauderdale is the next best thing. As one of the largest cities in the state and a popular tourist destination, Fort Lauderdale sits seaside in the southeastern portion of the state. One of my fondest childhood memories is on an old fishing boat floating around in the South China Sea.
