Mar 29: Last "bugs" of the season

Underwater Report

8am-outside air temperature - 68 degrees, warming to 80 degrees by 10am. With a gentle east wind, this was a great diving and boating day in South Florida. 77-degree water temperature with one foot waves, a very mild north current and visibility of over 50 feet.

A group of us ventured out on Thursday, March 23 on the Lady Go Diver, located at Marina One in Deerfield Beach. Owner Arilton Pavan of Dixie Divers has made Thursdays the underwater hunting day, so we end up with a variety of experienced and beginner hunters. This Thursday, there’s only a week left of spiny lobster season in Florida, so the group is focused on grabbing a few more “bugs.”

The mild northwest wind made the ocean conditions very comfortable for the 16 divers on the charter boat. Most of us knew each other as we’ve been together

8am-outside air temp- 68 degrees, warming to 81 degrees by noon. A mild west wind, 75-degree water temp with the seas flat and a very mild north current. Mar 9: Dive & Dine in Deerfield Beach

Our routine on Thursdays is to dive on the Lady Go Diver. A group of us I call the Chiefy crew, along with owner Arilton Pavan of Dixie Divers, have made this a regular underwater hunting day for many years. The Lady Go Diver picks us up at the southwest corner of Marina One in Deerfield Beach, which is conveniently adjacent to Duffy’s Sports Bar and Grill.
