Aquatint is a way to create large areas of tones in an etching. Depending on how you use it, it can lend itself to a soft translucent watercolor effect or be used to create rich velvety tones.
In this workshop we will use an airbrush method that creates rich aquatints comparable to what is possible with rosin. Step etching and stopping out will be introduced to create prints with an assortment of values. No experience necessary and all materials are included. Feel free to bring reference images and sketches.
