MODS will be hosting Moonlight Turtle Walks on Fort Lauderdale Beach throughout June and July. The Turtle Walks will be held throughout June and July on Fort Lauderdale Beach
The Turtle Walk adventure begins at the Museum of Discovery and Science with an informative presentation by Museum staff about sea turtles. Guest will then travel to Fort Lauderdale beach where a Museum expert guide will scout sea turtles’ nests. Guests should be prepared to walk approximately one to two miles in the sand and provide their own transportation and snacks. Participants must be 9 years of age or older. From spring to early fall, female sea turtles embark on an annual pilgrimage to the same beach where they were born to build nests and lay eggs at night and then return to the ocean.
