SPF Fort Lauderdale is a Small Press Fair, the first of its kind in South Florida! This year's edition, SPF'17, will take place at the warehouse of FATVillage, in the burgeoning arts neighborhood of Flagler Village, nearby downtown Fort Lauderdale.

SPF'17 is a hybrid print, book and zine fair that features a 50+ exhibitor market, a giant steamroller printing session, live demonstrations of print-making techniques, author readings, local craft beers and food trucks for a day of celebration and exchange. SPF’17 will showcase a diverse range of local and regional artists, printers, publishers, authors, poets, bookmakers, designers, zinesters and cultural workers, sharing and exhibiting new work related to printmaking, book making and zine creation.

Exhibitors will take over two warehouses in FATVillage, celebrating the growing interest and support for independent and small press artists and publishers that have fueled the sub-culture in South Florida for years. Split in two sections - the Beach Front - a space for larger tables of independent publishers, presses, universities, museums and special collections; and the Zine Dunes - a gritty collection of independent artists, musicians, designers, printers, tattoo artists and collectives – the exhibitor market is the heart of SPF and brings together a diverse cross-section of artists, creators and community members.

At the SPF Cabana onsite. visitors can refresh with ice-cold, locally brewed beer by Laser Wolf. Sampling from breweries in the South Florida area, SPF visitors can get to know the start-up brewing scene one a pint at a time.

In the weeks leading up to the fair, IS Projects, Girls’ Club and community partners will present hands-on workshops for artists, designers and the public to learn about and create their own print, book or zine related items. More info at www.spf-ftl.com.
