With fall well underway and winter on the horizon; Greater Fort Lauderdale continues its celebration of all things autumn throughout the month of November. Get yourself to a gala for a good cause, participate in a fun run to burn those Thanksgiving calories, or see a show from one of the spectacular touring acts taking a trip to Greater Fort Lauderdale during the fine fall weather.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Oct. 30-Nov. 3

Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival: Nov. 1-17

Now in its 34th year, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLiFF) returns to Savor Cinema-Fort Lauderdale and Cinema Paradiso-Hollywood for daily showings of featured films from around the globe. Choose from 200 short films, documentaries, and features to watch, and look out for celebratory events throughout the film fest.

Day of the Dead Celebration: Nov. 2

Consistently ranked as one of the top Day of the Dead events in the U.S., the 10th Annual Florida Day of the Day Celebration features festivities and entertainment starting at 2 p.m. leading up to the procession at 6 p.m. Watch as thousands of skeletons walk in memory of loved ones and giant puppets tower over the crowds during this local observance of the traditional Mexican holiday.

Andrea Bocelli: Nov. 7

Throughout the month of November, the live performance spaces of Greater Fort Lauderdale are chock full of the biggest names in entertainment. Hard Rock Live, the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood’s event venue, is bringing in legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli for a one-night-only performance on November 7.

Gridiron Grill-Off: Nov. 9

Food and sports meet at this event that has something for everyone. The Gridiron Grill-Off Food, Wine & Music Festival is back for another year at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater where 22 NFL athletes will be paired with top South Florida chefs to compete for bragging rights in the Grand Grill-Off. This fundraising event also includes a concert with country singer Brett Young and a Celebrity Cornhole Challenge.

Riverwalk Mutts & Martinis: Nov. 9

Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale presents its 14th Annual Riverwalk Mutts & Martinis to benefit the diverse Riverwalk District and celebrate the fido-friendly community that makes the area special. The free event takes place at Huizenga Plaza from 2 to 5 p.m.

Diwali Festival of Lights: Nov. 9

Attracting more than 10,000 revelers each year to the Broward County Convention Center, the 9th Annual Diwali Festival of Lights will feature performances, dancing, light displays, a wide array of Indian cuisine, and an exhibition hall filled with Indian clothes, gifts, and art for purchase.

Exotics on Las Olas: Nov. 10

As Florida Exotic Car Weekend kicks off, be sure to stroll down Las Olas Boulevard to see some of the world’s rarest exotic cars—including a special area for Ferraris and “Million Dollar Row,” a section reserved for the most valuable cars in Greater Fort Lauderdale. Exotics on Las Olas is free to attend and takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Light Up Lauderdale: Nov. 14

Join the City of Fort Lauderdale’s official holiday season kickoff, Get Lit – Light Up Lauderdale, to watch as the lights along the Riverwalk are flipped on for the season. The free event takes place at along the New River at Esplanade Park and will feature vendors, arts and crafts, face painting, pony rides, and even an appearance from Santa.

Jonas Brothers: Nov. 15

After six years apart, the Jonas Brothers are back with a new album and a new tour. The brothers play the BB&T Center for their stop in Broward County, joined by opening acts Bebe Rexha and Jordan McGraw.

Alicia Keys: Nov. 16

Another Grammy Award winner, singer, songwriter, and producer, Alicia Keys, performs at the Hard Rock Live for a special one-night-only performance benefitting the Shaw Carter Foundation, a charity dedicated to empowering underserved youth through scholarships.

Art + Stroll: Nov. 21

Don’t miss the inaugural Art + Stroll along Las Olas Boulevard during which the Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) will take over a block, transforming it into a hub of arts and culture. The free event showcases local fine art through a juried exhibit, music and dance performances, live painting on site, sidewalk chalk art, and includes the option of pairing drinks and appetizers for only $15.

Riptide Music Festival: Nov. 23 & 24

Broward County’s signature event is the annual Riptide Music Festival, held on Fort Lauderdale beach and featuring more than 30 performers over two days on three separate stages. Add in interactive art in the Underground Village and demos and workshops on the Culinary Stage, and it’s clear that Riptide is a Thanksgiving-time feast for the senses. This year’s headliners include The Killers, Jimmy Eat World, The 1975, Silversun Pickups, Reel Big Fish, and Soul Asylum.

Holiday Fantasy of Lights 5K: Nov. 23

Enjoy a unique evening run through a wonderland of lights during the Holiday Fantasy of Lights 5K Walk and Run in Coconut Creek. The run starts at 6 p.m. and the walk takes off at 7 p.m. It’s your chance to get a sneak peak at 25th edition of the Holiday Fantasy of Lights at Tradewinds Park, which doesn’t open until November 27 and is usually only available to drive through by car.

Bike Through the Lights: Nov. 24

If cycling is more your speed, you can Bike Through the Lights the very next night along the same 3-mile path through Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek. This Holiday Fantasy of Lights event is open to cyclists of all ages and features a food truck extravaganza for the whole family. 

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Nov. 30

Rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd close out a stellar month with what is sure to be an energetic concert at Hard Rock Live on November 30. Classic rock fans will want to be there for this stop on the band’s farewell tour.
