Events this month across Fort Lauderdale and Broward County embrace the fall season with festivals, fairs, and cultural celebrations. Make your plans now to attend some of the area’s most beloved events that happen every October, like the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and Las Olas Art Fair.
Harvest Festivals Weekends: Saturdays & Sundays all month
With fall officially here, Flamingo Gardens is hosting Harvest Festival Weekends every Saturday and Sunday throughout October. Bring the kids for free hayrides, a pumpkin patch, costume contests, bounce houses, a scary plants exhibit, music, crafts, and more.
Dunn’s Run 5K Walk & Run: Oct. 6
Head to Deerfield Beach for the 23rd Annual Dunn’s Run supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County. The 5K walk/run and 5-mile run takes place right along the beach and also includes a 100-yard dash for kids 6 and under.
Oktoberfest: Oct. 12 & 26
Join the German American Society of Hollywood for the return of Oktoberfest. The family-friendly event takes place on two Saturdays this month: October 12 and October 26. The October 12 event will feature the MassKrug Endurance Contest, while the October 26 event will feature performances from Bavarian folk dancers and music from Bob Houston’s German Oktoberfest band. Come for the bratwurst, schnitzel, and strudel, stay for the steins of lager and ale.
Kung Fu Exhibition: Oct. 19
Watch martial arts come to life during the 50th Anniversary celebration of Lee Koon Hung Kung Fu and the International Masters Exhibition at the Coral Springs Gymnasium. Honoring grandmaster Lee Koon Hung, who founded the kung fu association named after him, the celebration will include international martial arts masters, a lion dance performance, and even a performance of the Chinese art of face changing.
Las Olas Art Fair: Oct. 19-20
Hundreds of artists from all over the country converge at this annual juried fine art fair held in Fort Lauderdale along Las Olas Boulevard. For two days, the 32nd Annual Las Olas Art Fair will showcase creative works ranging from sculptures and jewelry to paintings and pottery with the artists themselves presenting their creations.
Brazilian Festival: Oct. 19-20
Now in its eighth year, the annual Brazilian Festival of Pompano Beach is a celebration of the culture, food, music, and art of Brazil. Taking place at Pompano Beach Community Park, the two-day festival will feature musical performances from Brazilian artists such as Iza, Biquini Cavadão, Di Ferrero, and Sandami. Plus, there will be a daytime Kids Zone, samba dancers and percussionists, capoeira, and all the Brazilian food you can handle.
Post Malone: Oct. 21
Don’t miss Post Malone on the Fort Lauderdale stop of his Runaway Tour at the BB&T Center as he is joined by fellow rappers Swae Lee and Tyla Yaweh.
WWE Live: Oct. 25
Wrestling fans, get ready for a rumble of epic proportions when WWE comes to the BB&T Center for the RAW Women’s Champion Match and Universal Championship Match. No less than a dozen WWE superstars will be on hand to duke it out in the ring, don’t miss it!
Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: Oct. 30 – Nov.3
The world’s largest in-water boat show returns to Fort Lauderdale, bringing with it more than 1,500 boats and plenty of vendors selling all things boat-related. Spanning seven locations, the 60th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show also includes educational seminars, fishing clinics for kids, watersports demonstrations, a Yacht Chef Competition, over 100 food vendors, VIP lounges, and much more.
Wicked Manors Halloween: Oct. 31
Wilton Manors gets spooky for its annual Wicked Manors Halloween celebration. This year’s street festival has the theme of “7 Deadly Sins’ and will feature music, dance performances, a costume contest, and, of course, fantastic people watching.
