We have two words -- "HELLO SUNNY!" The new Greater Fort Lauderdale HELLO SUNNY marketing campaign reflects how you feel when you arrive with that warm breeze on your face and you remove your socks and feel free with the feel of golden sand between your toes.
"Hello Sunny" carefully positions our distinctive brand personality - light hearted, carefree, refreshing, active, vibrant, entertaining, water-centric and sunny - leveraging that equity by wrapping our distinctive destination in a figurative warm smile. The phenomenal simplicity of these two words transmits the ease of Greater Fort Lauderdale in a welcoming, fun way.
New York Event: Greater Fort Lauderdale's "Goodbye Chilly, Hello Sunny" tour created a buzz on January 16, 2013, attracting winter-weary New Yorkers to free skating at The Rink in Rockefeller Center. Here, we transformed the city's famed ice rink into a tropical paradise for one day featuring bikini-clad ice dancers, easy breezy beach music, life-sized palm trees, beach umbrellas and ice blocks with frozen bikinis. The "Beach on Wheels" was also onsite with live models wearing bathing suits and tossing beach balls inside the Greater Fort Lauderdale sand-filled beach mobile. Street teams surrounded Rockefeller Center giving away free sunglasses and ice scrapers and a chance to win a Greater Fort Lauderdale beach getaway. A short segment on the Today Show and lunch for meeting planners and media capped off the day. Our spectacular Greater Fort Lauderdale billboard is wrapped around Toys R Us at 44th and Broadway and window displays at the NY Stock Exchange on Wall Street. Click here for the video recap.
London Event: On January 22, 2013, the Greater Fort Lauderdale team set up a tropical oasis at Canary Wharf, a busy financial center for London morning commuters. Yellow beach umbrellas, palm trees, bikinis in ice blocks and beach-wrapped taxi cabs awaited cold-weary Londoners, along with a chance to win a beach holiday, courtesy of British Airways. More than 9,000 Hello Sunny sunglasses, ice scrapers and Vacation Playbooks were distributed. Colorful Hello Sunny ads ran in the Evening Standard and UK Metro. Click here for the video recap.
