If a picture is ‘worth a thousand words,' how much is a live streaming beach view worth? With Blue Wave Certified beaches and perfect sunny days from sunrise to sunset, Greater Fort Lauderdale is giving visitors and would-be visitors a visual souvenir -- a new live HD webcam found on www.sunny.org/webcam.

"People have been having great fun using the stream to plan their trips, pack their bags, check the surf, to wave to their family and friends back home, or any number of unexpected yet wonderful interactive experiences," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "What started as a pleasant view of the beach, has turned into an extraordinary marketing tool for us and an invaluable planning resource for visitors."

Since its launch earlier this month, the webcam, located at Fort Lauderdale's Beach Place, has become the most-viewed and most-searched page on the destination's sunny.org website, with the www.sunny.org/webcam page attracting an average of 250,000 unique views per month.

The new webcam - one of 10 positioned throughout the destination--- showcases the beaches, Everglades, hotels, waterways and port. The webcam can be repositioned throughout the day to capture the best views of Fort Lauderdale Beach - from a dramatic sunrise over gently breaking surf to the night lights along popular A1A and the beachfront promenade. For a western view, the live webcam at Broward County's Everglades Holiday Park offers the sights and sounds of the exotic Everglades including wading birds, airboats, frogs, alligators, and more.
