RIPTIDE MUSIC FESTIVAL RETURNS TO FORT LAUDERDALE BEACH
AS BROWARD COUNTY'S SIGNATURE EVENT, NOVEMBER 23-24
Destination Delivers More Than Music with New Underground Village Showcasing Local Flare
GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Nov. 19, 2019) – Greater Fort Lauderdale has joined forces with leading media and entertainment company, Entercom, to create a reimagined Riptide Music Festival – set to welcome a record-breaking number of attendees and more than two dozen performers to Fort Lauderdale beach, November 23-24, 2019. As the official Broward County Signature event, Riptide’s new offerings will feature local cultural highlights such as art and culinary experiences. A strong vehicle for economic growth and tourism development, the event’s expansion will reflect the destination’s growing creative community with enclaves such as the FATVillage and MASS District neighborhoods, joining Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Downtown Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District.
“Riptide Music Festival perfectly captures the spirit of Greater Fort Lauderdale and its ongoing evolution as a destination with exciting live events, arts and culture-oriented neighborhoods and major music concerts and entertainment,” says Stacy Ritter, CEO and president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We’ve taken a very successful event and made it better to showcase the destination through a new lens – an Underground Village featuring immersive and interactive arts, cuisine and fashion and a two-story Visit Lauderdale cabana, where visitors can enjoy some of the best in alternative rock.”
Riptide festival goers will be welcomed by a towering Rainbow Tunnel upon entering Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Underground Village – a first-ever element designed to capture the essence of the destination’s culture in one multi-sensory experience, featuring:
Interactive Art Installations
A curated art exhibit will offer a glimpse into Greater Fort Lauderdale’s thriving creative talents with immersive and interactive installations by some of the area’s leading and rising artists.
Culinary Stage + Food Stands
The all-new Culinary Stage will give attendees a sampling of the destination’s gastronomy with interactive demos and workshops by hometown chefs and restaurateurs. A line-up of food stands will feature Greater Fort Lauderdale’s best bites on the beach – from fresh-off-the-grill seafood to veg-friendly arepas.
Celebrity-Studded Fashion Showcases
The Underground Village will also host a number of vibrant fashion showcases, led by legendary style guru Tan France of “Queer Eye.”
