We honor the men and women who have served our country with a memorial service, which includes military ceremonies such as, various honor and color guards; a military fly over; local dignitaries placing a wreath at the memorial, music and guest speakers.

Great American Beach Party
May 25: Fort Lauderdale Beach at A1A and Las Olas Blvd. 10am-8:30pm
Featuring music, live performances and activities for the entire family including a kids zone, sand castle contest, an art show, and a free movie showing on the beach! Six bands will perform on two stages throughout the day treating crowds to a variety of rock 'n' roll, country, funk, dance favorites, and more. 

Memorial Day KidzFest at Flamingo Gardens
May 25-27: 9:30am-4pm. Celebrate the opening weekend of the Lost World of Dinosaurs exhibit presented by NBC 6 at Flamingo Gardens’ KidzFest this Memorial Day Weekend. The exhibit features 27 realistic dinosaur replicas staged throughout the jungle-like gardens. In the gallery, view Robert DePalma's Echoes of Extinction fossil showcase exhibit featuring complete dinosaur skeletons, fossils, amber, interactive displays, dinosaur touch bone, and a replica dino dig. Meet world renowned paleontologists to learn from the experts with presentations and guided tours. Take a tour of the new cycad garden to see and learn about some of the plants from the age of dinosaurs. In addition, kids can make dinosaur crafts and go on a dinosaur scavenger hunt. $19.95 ages 12+, $12.95 ages 3-11, members and children 2 or younger free. Narrated Tram Tour is included.

Deerfield Beach: Memorial Day Commemorative Ceremony Honoring all Vets
May 27: Historic Butler House 380 E Hillsboro Blvd. Free concert follows ceremony. Noon-2pm.

City of Hollywood: 65th Annual Fred Hunter Memorial Day Service
May 27: Hollywood Memorial Gardens, 6300 Taft St. Patriotic, traditional remembrance honoring veterans of all wars and veteran’s organizations.  Begins at 11am.

City of North Lauderdale: Wreath-Laying Ceremony
May 27: 10am. North Lauderdale Veterans Memorial, at Kimberly Boulevard and Rock Island Road in North Lauderdale. 954-724-7061.

City of Pembroke Pines: Ceremony
May 27: 9am-10:30am. Fletcher Art & Cultural Center/Fletcher Park. Presentation of colors, guest speakers and a wreath placing.  954-392-2116.
