GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE TO WELCOME FOOD NETWORK & COOKING CHANNEL SOUTH BEACH WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY FOOD & WINE’S NEW TASTE FORT LAUDERDALE CULINARY EVENT SERIES

For the first time, the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE (SOBEWFF®) will expand north to host the inaugural Taste Fort Lauderdale event series during the 15th annual Festival, February 24-28, 2016.

"Greater Fort Lauderdale is home to some 4,000 restaurants, eclectic cuisine and top-notch chefs," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Conventions & Visitors Bureau. "The decision to bring a high caliber event such as the South Beach Wine & Food Festival® solidifies our standing as a culinary hotspot and foodie destination. Come for the food, stay and have your fill of our world-class beaches, hotels and attractions.”

The five-day Taste Fort Lauderdale series will kick off on Wednesday, February 24th at the Bonnet House Museum & Gardens with Seaside Eats hosted by Robert Irvine, author and star of Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible and CHOPPED: Impossible. Participating restaurants include Steak 954, Ocean 2000, YOLO, S3, Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille, Society 8 / Beauty & The Feast, BAO Bar & Asian Kitchen, Lobster Bar Sea Grille, 3030 Ocean, The Redlander @Schnbly Winery, Ironside Fish & Oyster / Soda & Swine, Sauced Up Food Truck,   TACOCRAFT / ROK:BRGR / Himmarshee Public House  and Miami Grill.

On Thursday, February 25th, Cooking Channel hosts Gabriele Corcos and Debi Mazar will host a dinner with Chef Angelo Elia at his eponymous restaurant, Casa D’Angelo Ristorante. On the same night, Todd English, restaurateur and four-time James Beard Award-winning celebrity chef will join Executive Chef Chris Miracolo for a beachside dinner at S3 restaurant.

Chef Marc Vetri, James Beard Award-winner and Philadelphia native, will join Valentino’s Executive Chef/Owner Giovanni Rocchio for a modern Italian feast on Friday, February 26th at Valentino.

Two dining events will take place on Saturday, February 27th: Robert Curry and Paul Lemieux, the executive chef and pastry chef of Napa Valley’s Michelin-starred restaurant at Auberge du Soleil, will prepare a dinner hosted by Auberge Beach Residences & Spa, which is set to open in Fort Lauderdale in 2017.

Celebrity chef Justin Warner and Kuro Executive Chef Alex Becker host a multisensory evening at the New Style Remix Dinner, fusing new-style Japanese cuisine accented by beats from DJ Felix Da Housecat at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s luxe and vibrant fine dining restaurant.  The party continues after dinner at Kuro’s bar, lounge and poolside patio with desserts, signature cocktails and DJ Felix Da Housecat remixes.  The final event of the Taste Fort Lauderdale series will be the Bloody Mary Brunch hosted by the Cast of Chopped at The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale.
