GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Feb. 10, 2015) - The beach beamed into a below-freezing Chicago today, whisking commuters away from the 31 °F windy city to the golden sands of Greater Fort Lauderdale's 73 °F, as part of a first-of-its-kind interactive and heated bus shelter.

Unsuspecting commuters were surprised by swimsuit models both in person at the corner of State and Adams and live from Fort Lauderdale beach via a 50" digital monitor and live satellite link importing rays of sunshine from 1200 miles south.

Commuters had the chance to talk in real time with "Mr. Sunny" and Nicki E. Grossman, president and CEO, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, while one lucky participant won a beach vacation getaway to Greater Fort Lauderdale, courtesy of Southwest Vacations.
