Take in the history, art, culture, and science of Greater Fort Lauderdale during Broward Attractions and Museums Month (BAMM) throughout September. For the entire month, 15 participating museums and attractions across Broward County will offer buy-one-get-one-free admission or free admission.
Just mention “BAMM” at any of the below participating organizations, or inquire about the offer, for your chance to experience some of the most popular things to do and discover around Greater Fort Lauderdale. Take advantage of this opportunity and you just might find yourself face to face with gators, feeling the wind blow as you cruise on a riverboat, standing in awe of centuries-old artifacts, and even getting hands-on with history.
Participating Museums & Attractions
Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum (BOGO admission) – Learn about the history and culture of some of Florida’s first residents at this museum dedicated to the Seminole Tribe.
Art and Culture Center/Hollywood (BOGO admission) – Come see contemporary art in a historical setting with up to six exhibitions showcasing art from a variety of artists and mediums.
Blanche Ely House Museum (Free admission) – Check out this newly reopened space dedicated to the life and achievements of local community activists and educators, Blanche and Joseph Ely.
Butterfly World (BOGO admission) – Immerse yourself in the largest butterfly park in the world where you’ll find thousands of butterflies along with other winged creatures like lorikeets, hummingbirds, parrots, flamingos, and even bugs.
Coral Springs Museum of Art (Free admission) – See the creative works of nationally recognized artists from right here in Florida at this museum focusing on traditional, modern, and postmodern art.
Flamingo Gardens (BOGO admission) – Part botanical gardens, part wildlife sanctuary, this 60-acre attraction has enough to do and see to keep you busy for an entire day, from big cats to black bears, flamingos to flora.
Historic Stranahan House Museum (BOGO admission) – Visit the oldest surviving structure in the area to learn about the Stranahan family that once lived there and take a journey to the past.
History Fort Lauderdale (BOGO admission) – Operated by the Historical Society of Fort Lauderdale, this campus of three museums and a research library celebrates history through education and is home to some of the oldest architecture in the county.
Jungle Queen Riverboats (BOGO noon and 2:30pm 90 minute cruises only) – Take a narrated cruise to see the Venice of America from the best possible vantage point—a double-decker boat!
Museum of Discovery and Science (BOGO with adult admission. *NOT VALID on Tuesdays) – Entertain the entire family, from toddlers to seniors, at this interactive museum with over 200 exhibits to explore.
NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale (BOGO admission) – Find everything from 19th-century paintings to avant-garde art at this impressive space with 25,000 feet of exhibition space in the Arts and Entertainment District of downtown Fort Lauderdale.
Plantation Historical Museum (Free admission) – Get to know Plantation, Florida by visiting this local history museum full of Native American artifacts, fire and police memorabilia, impressive dioramas, antiques, and even a complete triceratops skeleton.
Sawgrass Recreation Park (BOGO admission) – Come to this space dedicated to exploring the Everglades by airboat where the fun extends to reptile and mammal exhibits after your ride.
Stonewall National Museum - Wilton Manors Gallery (Free admission) – This extension of the Stonewall National Museum & Archives features both curated and nationally touring exhibitions which preserve and share the history of LGBT culture.
Wiener Museum of Decorative Arts (BOGO with adult admission) – Embrace the fine arts in Dania Beach, FL via exhibits featuring impressive collections of studio glass art, pottery, and porcelain.
World AIDS Museum (Free admission) - Explore the history and stories of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Xtreme Action Park (BOGO for XD Dark Ride Theater only) – Come for the many family-friendly, indoor activities, stay for the XD Dark Ride Theater where full-motion seats make you feel like you’re part of the action.
Young At Art Museum (BOGO Wednesday-Friday, 1 per family) – With a mission to inspire young minds, this interactive children’s museum boasts hands-on spaces that get kids excited about art and encourage creative thinking.
