The beach beamed into a below-freezing Boston in February, whisking commuters away from the icy cities to the golden sands of Greater Fort Lauderdale, as part of a first-of-its-kind, interactive promotion.
Unsuspecting commuters were surprised in the bus shelter at the corner of Boylston and Clarendon streets, with bikini-clad models live from Greater Fort Lauderdale's beaches via a 50" digital monitor and live satellite link importing rays of sunshine from more than 1200 miles away.
Commuters had the chance to interact in real time with Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau mascot "Mr. Sunny" while lucky participants won beach vacation getaways to Greater Fort Lauderdale and prizes.
